I love to travel the Himalayan areas of Nepal. Last month when travelling to Pokhara, one of the incredible cities on planet earth. Suddenly, Ghandruk came into my mind without much delay me along with my brother decided to explore the magnificent beauty of Ghandruk. We started our journey early in the morning from Pokhara with a 55-KM drive on the Pokhara-Baglung highway passing the beautiful towns of Hemaja, Phedi, and Naudanda. First, we reached the Nayapul, the trail goes up a steep slope leading to the suspension bridge over the Modi Khola. After half an hour hiking we reached the beautiful and crowded Bhirethati.

At the point of Bhirethati, the path divided into two. The path going west leads to the trail to Ghorepani pass and the right path that we took leads to the Ghandruk. On the way, there are so many beautiful hotels and tea spot. You don’t have to worry about daal bhaat (Typical Nepali Food). As you passed the trails you will listen to nostalgic sounds of the river on the sides and songs of birds as well. This trail is famous for ‘Mules on the Trail’ where you will see hundreds of mules passing on the trail. The distinct peals of the bells are hanging on their neck and they produced continuous bell sound on the way. They are used as a medium of transportation to supply goods to villages of Ghandruk.

With the flows of the river, the journey was continuous with taking lots of beautiful pictures on the way and finally, we came to the Syauli Bazzar. The village for small sizeable number of Magar people who reside here. Syauli Bazzar is the very famous old preferred route for most of the trekkers. The trail goes around the mountain to the left and Modi Khola on the right. You will see lots of paving stones on the way, naturally, it looks so beautiful. Just focus on the stones pavement so that you don’t step on huge piles of mule dropping.

As we go up on the trails after walking some hours we reached Kuine Danda. Very naturally views are seen admire the engrossing view all around. After walking all those steps and trails a small Kimchi village seen. This is the perfect place to take some rest and advise to take some food here. After kimchi to till Ghandruk there won’t be many places to get cuisine. So, villagers recommended us to have food here and take some rest before resuming the trail. We did as well. The more up you go, the much closer majestic Machhapuchhare peak on the north side amaze you. Trust me you will see heaven, the most outstanding view on the planet. The path begins with some rough and paved off when we reached to Chhane.

After some dedication of half an hour of walking finally, we reached our amazing destination Ghandruk. Ghandruk, a very beautiful village located at the 2010m. The traditional house is built on the hillsides. There are plenty of lodges and homestay around the village. And we decided to stay at the Simon Hotel one of the beautiful hotels in Ghandruk. It was 4:15 PM when we reached Ghandruk and still the views are much more amazing. I took a long deep breath and keep calm myself for some time and look at it. I saw Macchapucchre, Annapurna III, Gangapurna, Hiunchuli, and Annapurna South. Macchapucchre, of course, occupies pride of place in this impressive line-up.
In my heart, I patted myself for being able to reach such a majestic destination after a very long and adventurous trail.
